Maintenance of orchids

Orchids love rooms with plenty of light, but it should be kept away from direct sunlight. Also, the draft does not suit her. On the other hand, low light can stop flowering.

The temperature that suits her is in the range from 18 to 30 degrees. From the cold, its leaves turn yellow and fall off, while on the other hand, it is fried due to too high temperature and direct sunlight.

It is watered by immersion in water - the whole vessel is immersed in water and left to stand for 1-2 hours. During this time, the substrate (bark) in which the orchid is planted absorbs water, and any excess that is subsequently drained should be removed from the tray or decorative pot in which you keep it. During flowering, they must be fed a special fertilizer for orchids. Without enough food, the flowers are smaller, and the buds turn yellow and fall off. Orchid likes high humidity, so it is desirable to spray on the leaves, but it is not recommended to spray the flowers, because there are spots on the petals. Avoid spraying orchids in the evening, because due to the drop in temperature, there is a greater possibility of fungal diseases. Watering is best early in the morning. It is watered once a week in winter and twice in summer. Between two waterings, the soil must be completely dry. Water with rainwater or standing water because the water from the tap is chemically treated and will not be the most pleasant for orchids. During flowering, more frequent watering is needed.
